Starting an online business

A few things the consultants never tell you about starting a web business.

It takes time. And by time I don't mean a couple of weeks, it can take months or even a year or two to really build the traffic you need. You can take a short cut with advertising and buying keywords, but the bigger money comes when you've achieved good position in the search engines. Now the referrals are free, and the traffic goes up over an ad in the exact same position. The other thing no one talks about is the times you get stuck with bad suppliers. You really have to be careful about who you're using to supply products to your customers. This is especially true when your drop shipping items. It's nice because you don't have to handle the product. It goes straight from a middle man or manufacturer to the end user. But it can be frustrating because you lose some control.
