Another fun game is to guess how many squares of toilet paper will fit around the mother to be at the stomach.

Buy the shower invitations and mark them up twenty or thirty percent, include the thank you notes as well.

During the baby shower write down the gifts received from each guest to make it easier for the mother to send out thank you notes.

Visit bakerys and have several ideas to present to the party hosts for cakes. Arrange for the cake yourself and you've got another opportunity to make a profit.

You should provide the paper plates, napkins, plastic utensils, and anything else you think a baby shower might need.

Try to personalize everything. The sweetest sound to anyone is her own name. Color printers are so cheap now it makes sense to have one and print out the party plan, and menu in color customized with the mother's name and the baby's if it's known.

Have business cards made and see if the manager of the local baby clothes store will let you place a few on the counter. Use a push pin and put four or five of them at a grocery store bulletin board. You could also make a nice pink and blue flier with those pull off tabs with your phone number on them as well.

The key to party planning is organization. You should have pre-printed forms when you first meet with the party host. The form should have everything written down you could possibly imagine needing. The first couple of parties you're going to miss a few things so make sure you edit the form until you've got it perfected.
